Scott McLew

Scott McLew is the Policy Manager for the National Specialist Contractors’ Council (NSCC), the representative umbrella organisation for specialist trade organisations within the UK construction industry. NSCC has 32 member organisations representing Specialist Contractors across the spectrum of building trades. 

Scott has a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from Victoria University in New Zealand.  He joined NSCC in 2008 after several years working in the third sector, predominantly within the international development and community development fields. Scott’s role within NSCC is primarily project based, looking at policy issues such as apprenticeships, health and safety, pre-qualification, and waste within the construction industry. He also runs NSCC’s quarterly snapshot of the specialist sector through the NSCC State of Trade Survey.

Scott represents NSCC on industry bodies including the Cross Construction-Industry Apprenticeship Task Force (CCATF), various CITB-ConstructionSkills Committees, the Sustainable Construction Task Group and he sits on the management board of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) forum. He also oversees three of NSCC’s key Committees: Health and Safety, Training and the Scottish Committee.
