Bob Blackman was appointed National Secretary of the Transport & General Workers Union – Building, Construction & Civil Engineering in September 1998. He is a qualified bricklayer, with 35 years experience in construction and civil engineering.
His is currently posts include Trade Union Side Chairman of the Construction Industry Joint Council, Trade Union Secretary of the Building and Allied Trades Joint Industrial Council, Member of the (Construction) Sector Skills Council, Chairman of CITB Construction-Skills (Health, Safety and Environment Committee), Director of the Building & Civil Engineering Benefit Schemes and Director of Construction Skills Certification Scheme.
